Mindful Science
Who am i?
A little introduction
Hello fellow scientists and/or inquisitive beings –
Thank you for taking the time to rummage around this one-person project entitled Mindful Science. My name is Holly and I am a research scientist who is currently working in pancreatic cancer research with a huge passion for science communication and public engagement.
I wanted to create this blog in order to share my thoughts, knowledge and enthusiasm for cutting-edge medical research and hopefully inspire creative minds into science. I must admit that I write about a variety of topics, some of which are not in my direct field such as sustainability, gynaecological health and the biology of exercise. However, I hope I am able to convince any non-scientists amongst you that science doesn’t have to be convoluted and that it is, in fact, accessible to everyone!
Special thanks to Emma Parsons (@emma.the.scientist on Instagram) and Lynn Lukiyanova (@lynnlukiyanova on Instagram) for editing and graphic design.
With that said, I hope that you, the reader, have been able to engage with the majority of topics covered on this blog. I am always delighted to hear any comments (and further questions) so please don’t hesitate to get in contact! To all the fellow scientists – please feel free to approach me with ideas/ articles that you want to share. I’d love for any of you to write a piece however I’d also be happy to simply read over articles and give any advice where I can. That said – if you’re a physicist – I won’t be much use.
Best Regards,
